OpalJolt
Diver for Pearls & Seafood

As a hatchie OpalJolt heard the same tales as TropicPearl, that she was a soulless creature, a resurrection of a Pearlcatcher lost at sea, destined to search for her pearl forever. She took a skeptical view of such malarkey and decided her opal scales were simply an affliction that she would survive. She would fight those who scorned her and is still quick to take offense over those who insult her mate or her condition. Yet despite her disdain for the legends, she still felt drawn to the sea and had no fear of the water like most of Ridgeback kind.

She joined the divers on the rough and wild coasts of Tempest Spire, jumping from high peaks into the crashing waves to obtain seafood for the voracious Ridgebacks of the shore. She fit in well with the coarse and rowdy sailors and divers, they only cared for her abilities and not about her scales. (though most were wise enough to not mention them least they find her claws against their throats) She would play chess on her time off and drink heavily at her favorite bar the “Rotten Oyster”, though eventually the latter would lead her to leaving the Tempest Spire. She had been drunk and was insulted by another drunk patron, leading to a fight that would destroy said bar.

She decided to swear off the booze (especially Stonewatch Scrub Tequila) and traveled to Tsunami Flats for a clean start. It was there that she met TideTempest, who gave her the blessing of fins and gills for her courageous act of saving a hatchie that had been caught in a whirlpool. In return she took up the job at the Abyssal Acropolis doing what she does best, diving and fishing. She became a partner with TropicPearl who had been struggling to do the job due to fear of tearing his scales. She is conscientious about his issues, always seeking to protect him from mental and physical harm- even at the expensive of her own well-being. She does not trust VolcanicRift, she believes the dragoness is using TropicPearl’s anxiety to further her wealth.

Over her time in the Abyssal Acropolis and traveling across the sea, OpalJolt has made several friends and rivals. She came across SirenSong at the Lionfish Isles, the pair like to brag over different fishing feats and perform the occasional arm wrestling match. SilverDroplet, she found playing chess and challenged him to a match- a challenge that has occurred every month for several years. SilverDroplet has more wins under his belt, but OpalJolt is slowly catching up. And last but not least, is Captain WhirlPool, who drops in off her ship every year or so. The pair trade tales and try to keep each on the straight and narrow when it comes to the drink.
