Biography
Council member, mechanic, mage - technomancer.
The clan’s mechanic and engineer, and one of the first dragons to join the clan.
Orobas is extremely fascinated with robots and the like and uses his own innate magic to work with metal and machines. He’s responsible for most of the mechanic limbs and such enhancements in the clan, including his own. Some of the other dragons insist he’s a powerful mage, but he sees himself purely as a mechanic, even if most of his machines are powered by magic energy.
He’s infinitely curious and loves learning new things, especially about machines and anatomy, how everything in the world works and such. He spends at least as much time studying books and the world as he does trying to build his own creations. He does have a bad habit of getting totally absorbed in his work and forgetting to eat and take care of himself. Because of his extensive studying, he’s trained his memory to be somewhat better than your average tundra’s. Only somewhat though, and he still hopelessly ends up forgetting a lot of things that aren’t related to his interests, and sometimes those that are as well.
He might be more or less of a genius, but his social skills are not quite comparable to his academic ones. Orobas is hopelessly shy and has trouble opening his mouth in front of anyone he’s not all that comfortable around. He also ends up blurting out things that might be offensive, and he has a looming fear that others are just annoyed with how he won’t shut up about things that he’s into. He’s a very kind and warm dragon, really, just a bit awkward. Okay, a lot awkward.
Orobas is also quite absent-minded and very accident-prone when he’s absorbed in his work. He’s had several small and big accidents, causing all his limbs, save for wings and small vestigial arms (thanks Arcanist!) to be partly mechanic nowadays. He built his own prostheses himself. Along with the prosthetic limbs, the achievement he’s most proud of is the tiny golem dragon he built himself, as well as being able to repair an old golem that now acts as his familiar.
Orobas’s spouse is Leraie. They’re kindred spirits and bring the best out of each other, calming each other down and supporting each other. They’re life partners and best friends, and even have a couple of offspring, including Pakkanen who is still living in his birth clan.
Orobas’s familiar is a Spellbound Golem he has a special bond with. The clan’s scavengers found the inactive golem, which they mistook for a bizarre suit of armor. Orobas took it upon himself to fix the golem, and he was able to reanimate it by powering it with his own magic energy. The golem now follows him everywhere and helps him around with his work.
