Biography
Hintchshaw || Hunter of Eldritch Beasts || || Compulsive || Eccentric ||
||Resigned ||
"none will love the butcher. don't take it too personally."
Those tainted by foul curses often manifest themselves as harrowing beasts of the night, limbs elongating and jaws housing far too many teeth, snapping and hungry for any dragon they encounter. Lurking in rotten regions of land, they are unnaturally powerful and dreadfully horrifying. An epidemic of such creatures calls for specialised hunters to dismember and destroy the beasts, less their herds happen upon a small clan and utterly consume them. Hintchshaw was initially a trapper for a quaint clan. After the beastly creatures murdered his companions, he turned his attentions to learning to hunt them in return. |
Devoting himself to learning the trade from ancient scripts depicting the very first of their kind, Hintchshaw quickly picked up on how to use fire to frighten away beasts and how to avoid their violent attacks. While lamenting and anxious initially, he grew significantly more confident with each beast slaughtered. Now not only does he hunt out of authorisation to avenge the dead, but for his own twisted entertainment.
Social activities are not exactly his forte, while he will join others on regular hunts and engage in small talk and instruction, he does not actively seek out others for companionship. Primarily out of fear of losing another to the beasts, yet still his focus is always drawn back to his hunting. Perhaps when he is older, and more content in the world state, he will settle, and strengthen his relations.
The process of consuming beast blood is a primal act that dates back to the birth of the art of hunting the creatures. An addictive substance, that alleviates any and all hurts, alongside strengthening the consumer to unnatural levels, mentally and physically. Far more addictive than drink, many who partake risk losing their minds should they overdose on the beastly beverage, perhaps risking becoming a monster themselves. Self-control is a vital element when one plays with the powers rewarded by blood ministrations.
Hintchshaw drinks from every kill he earns.
Undoubtedly addicted to this substance, he eagerly seeks it out and drains his kills into vials for later use. Using serrated weapons to heavily bleed his foes, Hintchshaw is a terrible and brutal creature, and any adversary, living or beast, likely will not survive a scuffle with him.
Highly aggressive when without his blood, he breaks down into heated sweats that clump his fur and hostile snarls at any who approach. The drake is highly dependant on the blood of his foes, and toes at the incredibly dangerous line between sanity and beasthood.
Rumours of an antitoxin that was used to wean the addicted hunters of yore are spread amongst the clan, yet none yet brave enough to seek it out have attempted to create the remedy.
