The tales of Prism's origin are many and varied - because she has never told the same story twice.

In some, she is a descendant of royalty, in others a cursed child. In some she was born beneath a star of prophecy, and in others still, she is of humble beginnings.

Prism has never told the same story twice - because she herself has no memories of her birth, of her life, of any moment before she first awakened in the territory of the Clan of Second Chances.

She awoke from what she believed was merely a short nap in the afternoon sun, to find herself surrounded by unfamiliar faces. Faces of an Unrepentant scouting party that had come to investigate rumours that a dragon had fallen from the sky.

They had expected to find a corpse. They instead found a decidedly unhinged, manically cheerful, but ultimately pleasant Spiral dragon who had no idea as to her current whereabouts or situation.

At a loss, the party took her back to the lair proper. Gore was tasked with determining the truth about Prism, what secrets she held beneath that oblivious facade. However, even the Fae's unique interrogation tactics yielded no information.

At length, she was deemed a harmless oddity, and strongly encouraged to leave the clan. The Spiral didn't much care for their threats. Instead, she set about establishing a routine - settling every night beside the mealtime fire, telling tales and reciting poems to any dragon who would listen.

And many did listen. Slow at first to warm to Prism, the Unrepentant dragons ultimately accepted that she had no intention of leaving. Entertainment was a luxury that the clan could not afford - but she did not ask any luxuries in return. The Spiral desired nothing more than a comfortable cave and a steady supply of candied insects.

Gifted with creativity, her stories extend far past those of her own origin. She weaves tales of distant lands, harsh trials, mighty foes, and forbidden mating. She is the storyteller of the Unrepentant Clan, each tale a work of original fiction that she will never faithfully retell.

Her tales enthral, creating images in the minds of her listeners. The sensations of the world she creates, the tastes and sounds and smells of them, feel almost real. She even procures strange trinkets that seemingly prove that there are grains of truth to her stories.

Shatterglass and Typhoon have become her patrons, being elder dragons from a more civilized age where lore was valued above mere treasure. The pair gifted Prism the gorgeous silks that she now wears, and often request that she compose stories especially for them. She obliges... when it suits her.

Flighty, never remaining focused on any one idea or task for very long, she has however remained focused on one dragon - Bubblegum, a Wildclaw female who is currently oblivious to her affection. Though impatient, Prism amuses herself by waiting to see how long it will be before those feelings are ultimately reciprocated.

The Clan of Second Chances does not have a place for those who cannot fight, cannot join the gladiator's army, but Prism can indeed fight. Surprisingly bloodthirsty, she throws herself into combat in a single-minded frenzy - often sustaining severe injuries even as foes fall before her.

It's truly a beautiful sight, but only to those possessed of no combat training or common sense whatsoever.

In short, Prism is not a criminal, not a traitor, not even a murderer. She is neither sadistic, nor spiteful, nor truly evil. Or at least, she has no memory of being such. Still, she is as much a part of the Unrepentant Clan as any other dragon - and she intends to remain so.

Even if it means manipulating the very fabric of reality itself.

Symphony in the Key of Insanity wrote:
Plasticine wishes and popsicle love,
halves of a whole in split vessels reside.
Upon the sail of a tourmaline dove,
we together traverse this wretched divide.

Who may but guess at what sets skies aflame,
or within seconds the starlight entombs?
Shadows break ranks in this porcelain game,
and the wafer-thin blade, my joy it consumes.

Paupers and kings seek a beetle's advice,
though only the glaciers dare voice their fears.
Worlds set in motion by this quaint device,
that litters the path to the dark with it's tears.

A clockwork heart that now ceases to beat,
in a meeting of eyes on a runaway street.
