*the dragon nudges it's head forward, letting out an otherworldly noise that fills you with a sense of comfort*

Bm9rB89.gif While out on a gathering spree for plants in the Starwood Strand, Xylia stumbled and fell into a cavern full of luminescent gemstones. Basking in the glow, she almost felt consumed by time, and she wanted to stay for hours.

The night grew cold and the stars shone bright when she returned with her pouch of foliage in tow. Fumbles, worried as ever for any of his clanspeople, hummed to her in a tone that asked Where have you been? Are you alright?

"I'm fine, don't worry," she replied to him. He hovered near her, a low hum erupting from him; You seem like you've discovered something. What did you find?

"I found a cavern, well actually..." she paused, then continued, "I fell in a hole that led to a cavern. It was full of these huge, colorful crystals. It was beautiful, I didn't want to leave."

"Where was this cave?" a voice chimed in from behind the two, and they turned to face Dii, still cradling the newest addition to her children. Hieroglyph chirped in duotones, her voice echoing a strange syllable that seemed to be painted in curiosity. Xylia stammered, "W...well, it's in the Arcanist's territory across the canyon..."

"Lead me, will you?" Dii commanded adamantly, handing off the small spiral to her brother Zombie. Zombie glared at Xylia, "Take Goddess to the cave..." It grimaced before finishing, "...please." Xylia nodded, "I will, I will."

The morning sun rose and Dii had already packed her things, awaiting Xylia by the entrance to the foregrounds. Xylia approached without speaking and nodded in the direction of the cavern. The two flew for some time before entering the glowing forest, ever-growing trees reaching into the starry sky. Xylia pointed to a brush some ways ahead, "That's where it is." The two approached the hole and Dii peered inside.

"Beautiful. Simply beautiful."

The cave shone in a lavender aura, the crystals glimmering in deeper, darker shades of indigo and violet. A thin stream of dark azure water dribbled down the walls and gathered into a stagnant pond at the end of the hole, seemingly radiating with celestial light. Constellations twirled in the water, and Dii was hypnotized by the sight.

"Exquisite. Positively magnificent."

Xylia's gaze darted into the dark corner of the end of the cave. The shadows seemed to move in the far sight of her eye. She reached a claw out to Dii, "Goddess? We may not be alone." Dii peered over to the spot in which the Bogsneak was pointing, and the two watched as a crystalline structure seemed to...slither towards them.

"Divine..."

The living gem cracked and clunked as it dragged itself towards them. Xylia's stomach flipped with the horroresque sight, and she hid behind Dii, curling down into the tightest ball. Dii shook her head and looked back to the sentient rock formation, gesturing for it to come closer. She knelt down to the cavern floor, the pond by her feet, "Come, little one. Don't be shy." It let out a small noise, metallic sounding, like someone had crashed a piece of silver into glass. It pulled itself closer, and two bright and flickering magenta eyes peered longingly up at her. A spiral, splayed with the colors of the cave, gently tapped it's claws against Dii's feet, almost as if it wanted her to pick it up. She gladly reached down and pulled the crystallized hatchling into her arms, holding it close to her chest. It hummed and nuzzled her neck; it's jerking motions from being partly made of stone didn't seem to bother it at all.

"My dear child," Dii whispered to the form, "You are a miracle of nature and arcane's talents,
aren't you? You are beautiful, simply beautiful."

Xylia peeked over Dii's shoulder at the hatchling, it's eyes shining with the same pink light hers did. She let out a noise that could be compared to an excited sigh, reaching her hand out towards the little one. It wrapped it's hand around her talon, cooing softly as it swayed her hand back and forth. She giggled, "It's amazing, this is just..."

"Unimaginable?" Dii answered, "Much like the power I possess. This one is just another perplexing miracle in our unfathomable world."

"Another living stone," Xylia spoke, "Like Hieroglyph? Maybe these two are...related somehow?"
Dii stood quiet for a moment, gazing down at the gem dragon. She peered back at Xylia, "Perhaps not by blood...but likely by the same magic." She rocked the dragon in her arms as the two turned to leave the cave. Before they took flight back to the lair, Dii stood at the entrance one last time, taking in the majesty. She smiled down at the hatchling, "Or perhaps it was fate that led us to find another such as you." She turned away, walking back to where Xylia stood waiting.

"Kismet."
