- What's your name? Tsuki - Where are you from? The ice flight - Oh, you're far from home. Why did you come all the way up here? I don't know - Not everyone has to have a goal. What do you want to do while your here? I can't remember. I think I need to go. - Where? I don't know. Tsuki remembers faces but can't remember who or why they were important to him. He remembers the group of dragons he met first. There was a lot of them. The longer they spend in the white expanse, the less they moved. Their faces remained still and cold. A few struggled against the expanse and escaped but most remained and snow slowly started to pile on them. There were many days when no one moved, letting everything pile up on themselves. When he had the energy, he would speak of the lights which hung in the sky and the guidance they could provide. Of course, this included navigation but the lights were an ancient source of magic. If one could pull from them, the dragon could be warm even as ice covers their scales. He remembered one young dragon made a barrier with the energy of the lights. They left quickly. The coatl came for them. They knew she arrived when they smelled fresh spring buds which never grew in the glaciers of the ice flight. Her presence was produced a rare warmth Tsuki never understood the source of. He doesn't remember what they talked about. Only that she would come every month to select a few to take with her until she didn't. Until no one came. They waited as blizzard after blizzard past but no one came. Slowly, dragons started to disappear. He wandered. He followed the spring. He stopped in nature. He was lost in nature. He spend a long time with one dragon. She was with him when they left nature and entered the earthen flight. She was with him for almost as long as the first group. He remembers two other dragons. They were young, as young as the other dragons he was teaching. One day, he could smell the same spring in the air, so he moved on. He found the dragon but she was not the same. She was dull. She didn't have the same companions. But her scent remained. He waits for her instruction again. He waits for a reason to move and to do something. Anything. But he can't remember why he wants or needs. |
