Carnelia was very spoiled growing up, and was practically treated like a princess. She has fond memories of her mother running a brush through her feathers and draping her with beautiful silks and decorating her with flowers, all the while telling her how beautiful she was. "Just like your father," she would whisper while tracing the runes that spanned her hide. Anything in Sornieth was hers if she asked for it, but she was in for a rude awakening. It was customary for dragons from her birth clan to leave when they came of age, so very soon she found herself ousted with nothing but her extravagant garments.

She had traveled only a few days before she came upon Clan Daybreak, starving and dehydrated, where she settled immediately due to her inability to support herself without a clan. She would have perished if not for her new clanmates, though she seems to show no gratitude for this fact. Despite her beauty she seems to have not made any permanent friends, and is perhaps too self-absorbed to keep any.
