Always watching, rarely speaking, Nyx is a thoughtful, quiet scholar who has made it his life's work to study the darker sides of dragon lore - with a special interest in the Shadowbinder and her brethren. He has suffered much for his relentless pursuit of knowledge; the aching scars he bears (one of which was deep enough to damage his left eye) are evidence of the attacks he bore from certain, more traditionalist members of his birth clan, deep in the Lightweaver's territory.

Still, despite his suffering, he continues to be gently optimistic about the world; he bears no ill will towards his former clanmates. He hopes to return briefly someday to show them that darkness is not something to be rejected or feared - just understood - and that the other flights are not so different, after all. After traveling with his somewhat mate-best friend, everyday he rejects her more, taking more interest in the male dragons and his studies. When they met his adoptive clan in the Lightning fields they reluctantly took them in, eyeing his new male
clanmates though Nyx never really advancing. He soon rose through the ranks, earning his title as leader, while Gale turned more heartless by the moons(Months). . .

He takes more interest in his only daughter more than her mother. His loving and sweet side showing near her and his father instinct has shown more and more around her. He takes great pride and her beauty and intelligence and teaches her all he knows. She is the only child that stayed with him and he'd give his life for her.
