Prelude
A flash of lightning. A crack of thunder. The sky outside flickered from white-hot purple to a lifeless black. In the distance looms a mighty mountain. In the middle of the night, in a cave, nestled in the base of the mountain, there laid an egg. Carved of ice and snow, the egg balanced on its side at the edge of a pond. It teetered back and forth, seeming to be harmonizing with the sound of the thunder claps in the distance. The rain droned on as the egg inside formed a small crack. As the weather outside seemed to be taking a turn for the worse, the crack grew larger and larger. CLAP The thunder outside let out a final bang as the egg hatched and a little dragon popped out. The hatchling curiously stared down with her white-cold gaze at the pond. In the midst of her reflection, she noticed that the storm was quickly clearing up. The incessant rain drops have mysteriously stopped and the clouds made way for a brilliant moon shining down on the mountain. The stars have come out and filled the night sky with dazzling spots of light. A gust of wind blew into the cave and the hatching turned away from the pond to take her first steps towards the opening of the cavern. As she gazed up at the full moon, a whisper from the stars seemed to call out Nyx, welcome.
