Biography

She had been chosen before her egg had even hatched. While it wasn't entirely common for a dragon to be chosen so quickly, it also wasn't uncommon. No one as far as she could tell saw anything odd about it, and so Trinity herself didn't question it. Of course, she was young and inexperienced and thus didn't see the whispers of some of the older dragons behind her back. For a short while, Trinity was treated like a normal member of the clan, albeit one who certainly stood out where looks were concerned. Perhaps that fueled her ego, as she soon became known for her rash and hot headed personality.

Trinity was unsure what to expect when one of the few fighters in the clan approached her. She had quickly hid that by acting rude and ignorant, but the Imperial merely smiled tiredly at her. "Come," he had said, as the lair exploded with gossip at such a popular member interacting with a newcomer. "We have much to do." The young Wildclaw couldn't help but be filled with fear. For a warrior in the clan to tell another dragon to follow them almost certainly meant that they would be sacrificed to their deity. Trinity was no coward though, and she refused to let some old timer think he was better than her.

She was brought to the Training Grounds and met the other three dragons who fought in the Coliseum. There was Firestreak, the leader of the clan, although the massive Imperial hardly spared her a glance as she continued to clean grime off of her scales. Trinity nearly exploded with anger at being ignored, but the pale orange and green Imperial at her side quickly nudged her onwards. There were two Coatls, Delphi and Omen. The blue one, Delphi, was quick to greet her, his younger age showing in his bright and gentle personality that contrasted how fierce of a fighter he truly was. However, Omen only gave her a brief welcome before going back to lecturing the young blue Coatl at his side on technique and why it was so important. By the bored expression on Delphi's face, he had heard it many times before.

The Wildclaw was later brought to a clearing, the Imperial, Sunrise, still at her side. "Listen carefully, Trinity," he said, his face serious as he stared into the younger dragon's eyes. "This is not a game. You can die out here. I'm here to make sure you live longer than most do." Trinity dismissed him, the long claws on her feet tapping the ground impatiently. "I don't need your help," she said, rolling her eyes. "You'd just slow me down."

Her first opponents were difficult and would have overwhelmed her had it not been for the Imperial who seemed to be glued to her side. She had snapped at Sunrise for interfering, and the Imperial offered nothing but silence. Trinity continued onwards, refining her technique with Sunrise's unwelcome teaching, and grew stronger even as her mentor taught her that unnecessary viciousness in battle would only hinder a dragon. Despite how much she hated him, she couldn't help but be in awe of him. How could a dragon have so much power yet not want to use that power as he saw fit? It just didn't seem to be comprehensible.

Soon, Trinity was brought to the Mire for what Omen often called an 'abuse of his abilities'. Delphi was quick to defend him by saying he was just in a bad mood, although the purple and yellow Coatl always seemed to be in a bad mood if that were so. It was there that Trinity truly experienced for the first time just how powerful Sunrise truly was. Things had been looking bad, with Omen knocked out and Trinity and Sunrise both wounded profusely. Their attackers were readying for another attack when the Imperial let out a roar and pounced forward, his claws flashing in the dim light and within seconds, the battle was over. For the first time, Trinity openly stared in amazement at her mentor. "How did you do that?" she asked with awe as the Imperial tiredly shifted Omen onto his back. "Sunrise, please, teach me!" The Imperial had begun walking away, but stopped and turned slightly to look back at her. "The current you wouldn't understand it yet. But some day, when the time comes, I will definitely teach it to you."

Only a few weeks later, Sunrise disappeared much to everyone's shock. If Firestreak knew anything, she acted as if she didn't. Trinity refused to admit she missed her mentor, and her hurt at being left alone without a word of goodbye quickly morphed into bloodlust. Furious at her lack of knowledge, she disregarded all Sunrise had taught her, and furiously tore apart her opponents as her hurt turned into rage. The red and gold clan leader merely watched her as the young Wildclaw grew stronger, her gaze neither approving nor disapproving.
