"You can embrace death, or you can fall to it." Caria was once a respected war strategist in her old clan who worked alongside a high ranking Mirror general in the fight against the other clans in the Plague territory. Over time her charm and power got the best of Caria, and she fell in love. When she confessed, she was rejected. Her general did not see her as anything but another soldier. In a fit of rage, she attacked her, and ended up pulling out all four of her eyes. After the deed was done, she snapped out of her rage and realized that her clan would come for her soon, and fled in a desperate bid to save her own life. One of the warrior mages threw an attack at her as she was escaping, knocking her into the Cauldron with the eyes she had stolen. She emerged after they had moved camp. She was violently ill, and weaker than she had ever been in her life, but she was alive. The Plaguebringer had been merciful to her, and she only came away with two new sets of eyes and a creeping, stretching mass of mutated wings, teeth, and skin stretching across some of her body. Nonetheless, she looked like a monster, and terrified many of the dragons she approached while trying to find someone to heal her. No one would heal her. She healed on her own. She found Finn wandering through the wastes, scrabbling in the dirt and chittering excitedly to himself whenever he found a scrap of bone. He did not fear her as most dragons did, being the sort of dragon that other dragons avoided as well. Finn alone saw her utterly decimate one of the scouts from her old clan, who had gone out searching for her upon hearing tales of a mutated, six-eyed bogsneak creeping alone around the wastes. He pulled out the bones from the corpse she left in her wake and began to follow her, collecting the bones she left behind. After a while, they began to stay closer together, until the two of them were traveling side by side and talking along the way. As she talked to Finn (who was always an attentive listener, despite the random fits of unnerving laughter), she began to formulate a plan. She was a proud dragon, bold and power hungry. She deserved to be the one ruling, if the general couldn’t even defend herself. She was stronger, and they had disfigured her on purpose in an attempt to quell her power. She was a freak, but if she could gather dragons who would follow her, dragons like Finn, then she could take what was hers. She was her own general, now. She simply needed her army. She believes that this clan may very well be where she'll find the soldiers she needs. |
