______ Some say sorrow only blurs the mind. Others believe it purifies; all other details fade away, leaving behind only the body and soul. No one knows what Aoi thinks, however. He has made the eternal vow of silence, promising only to speak when our world reaches the end of its ages.
______ The majority of his life has been a solitary one; at an early age, both of his parents left to serve The Tidelord, leaving Aoi to his own will and device. Most of the other hatchlings avoided him, perhaps sensing a melancholic aura that drenches his being. A few dared to approach him, but even they faded away with time. His thoughts became his only company, and Aoi traveled for many years seeking a meaning to life.
______ Maybe it is the distraction that drives Aoi to fight alongside his clan members in battle, or perhaps it is the clarity that comes with sweat and blood. There is no way to truly know. It is now that Aoi spends every waking moment training through persistent inculcation, anticipating the time when the Tidelord calls upon him to serve until the day he may join his parents in their everlasting honor. He knows not when that will be--only that it is inevitable.
