Proud and ambitious by nature, she immediately took a liking to her clan's tyrant, a Pearlcatcher named Kuromaru. They ruled together in darkness, and Deneris enjoyed every minute of her power. They hoped to establish their Dynasty with their first nest - four eggs were a promising start. They were all fine dragons, dark and powerful like their father.

Save one.

She was born white and pure, with gentle colors and soft eyes. What little taint Deneris had in her had been somehow purged from her daughter. This "defiance of nature" infuriated her partner, and as young Roxanne grew, he did everything in his power to make her life a living nightmare.

Seeing her daughter grow up in pain broke Deneris. Though she remained with Kuromaru as fellow leader of the clan, she was exhausted and worn out. Every future child she had was just another risk, another chance that the taint would pass over them and infuriate Kuromaru.

Eventually she would leave him, retreating to the studies and traditions of her Flight. She became an ambassador and priestess of the Earthshaker, fleeing the horrors of her home clan - and her daughter. Though they never spoke, seeing her child was too much for her to bear. She had long yearned to serve a higher calling, to become a better dragon; this was a chance at a new beginning.

Now she preaches the message of the Earthshaker and protects those who come under her wing. Though she loves hatchlings dearly, it would take a truly dedicated partner to convince her to have her own ever again - though long past, the pain still feels too fresh.
