  Rue was born in a distant village in the midst of a grand forest, to an order of druids who possessed no magical abilities. Magic was viewed with a troubling mix of awe and horror, sparking a conflict that had two warring factions fighting over the opportunity to worship a gifted being, while the opposing side fought for the chance to kill it.

When Rue was born with such a gift, it was believed she would be safer away from their tumultuous home, and so she was brought to Ars Işik, to be raised in seclusion and safety. She was given to the druids in the Arboretum, and taught to master her craft by a mage in the Icese. Rue is still a child, and the druids are determined not to let her youth be taken from her, to see her be manipulated into a tool for the kingdom. In the quiet moments between her practice sessions, she has taken an interest in dancing. Her glimpses of the nobility’s home has led her to romanticize and admire their way of life, and she longs to dip her toes into their provinces for even a moment.
