Baine

Baine moved to Iyonda Landing soon after Banella did, and immediately started working as her loyal director. He is one of the few dragons to actually know the truth of the way Banella lives: that she is actually dirt poor and that all her money goes into maintaining the mysterious appearance she has built for herself. she spends all her time in a small, one-bedroom apartment in the attic of the Opera House, and her floor is strewn with papers from everything she's written, writing, or scrapped.

He works hard to help her maintain her image and run the Opera House when she cannot manage to do so. He has fallen in love with the dramatic wildclaw, and as a result has devoted his life to working with her. In addition to that, it allows him to live his dream of being a world-famous director. Now he too has build himself a persona of being the sinister but loyal director of the Opera House, who directs plays written by a world-famous playwright acted by world-famous actors. At one point, the fact that it is just an illusion would bother him, but since this way he can have both Banella and his dream reputation, he is happy.

He is unaware that Banella is cheating on his with Leo in the Clan of Resting Wings, though most of that is due to denial of the signs. He fears losing her too much to accept the truth, and being a playwright, Banella knows how to hide things well and erase suspicion.
