"a tale of six trillion years and one night"

the true lake monster of Lake Aúr Arel

It is said that Aigéan was as old as time, born of the shadowy muck in the very bottom of Lake Aúr Arel.

Legends say that when the Lightweaver had created her first batch of Imperials, there was a twin pair of sisters. They were identical, except one had wings like the beautiful turquoise lagoons of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. The other sister was said to have wings like the deep, rich blue of the Leviathan Trench.

The Lightweaver led her children across Sornieth, but as they crossed the Tangled Wood, the sisters' wings tired and they fell into the woods, unbeknownst to the Lightweaver. They crashed into the great lake Aúr Arel but could not save themselves, eventually drowning in the deep waters.

The two sisters fused after death to form the great monster Aigéan, who was then confined to the very depths of the lake by the Shadowbinder, who did not want a raging Emperor set loose upon her territory. It did happen to break through the barrier once but was almost immediately kicked back into the lake by the valley's patron deity, Skittles.

It now lays dormant and subdued, waiting for the day it can once again be set free from its watery prison.
