The sea of faces in front of her confused her. Dazed, she stumbled and nearly fell, her flailing claws looking for something to grab onto. She was a warrior, true... but she was not trained for this. Dozens of hatchlings surrounding her, young adults, the elderly, ghostly apparitions - all trying to grab onto her.

Please... please don't send us to the Plaguebringer...

Ritual opened her eyes suddenly as she flung out her wings in a defensive position, barely containing a scream. Her gaze met with Sforza's, whose eyes were also wide with fear. The tense pose she held relaxed and softened visibly as she looked at her. They spoke together in hushed voices, "The same sleep story...?"

"Over and over."

"It never ends..."

"...but someone has to do it."

"...yes," they concluded reluctantly. Rydia, Pyre's mate, giggled softly in her sleep. They both glanced at her, slightly envious of her blissful ignorance of the nightmares they live through.

Finally, Ritual patted Sforza's head awkwardly, "Try, get some sleep."

"Tomorrow, the cycle begins again."
