Sharik comes from an incredibly long line of Pearlcatchers dedicated to the LightWeaver, believed to date back to the original pearlcatchers. His parents had little to do with the LightWeaver, but his grandparents on his mothers side all hold Light in their veins, working as priestesses and weavers, closely linked to Her power. Sharik left his birth clan, making a sabbatical to the Radiant Eye, when he came across Clan Seiasa in the Hewn City.

If you ask him, he came at the perfect time; KavallKonug had just been shade-touched, and was being held off from the clan by HeimWachter, MakellosEngel, and SotSangare, while BlumenKonigin rallied as much Light as she could to try and burn the Shade from him. Her attempts would sizzle away the shadows, but it had too great a hold on Konug for her alone to banish it all.
Sharik understood what she was doing and rushed forward to add his own Light to the cast. With the two of them together, they were able to subdue KavallKonug, but were unable to fully remove what had stained his mind and body.

Sharik decided to stay with Clan Seiasa; He had found a place where his talents were truly appreciated, and he knew he could take on the duty of helping the shade touched who lived within the Clan alongside BlumenKonigin. She hid it well, but Sharik could see how exhausted she was by the workload.

Sharik holds himself above most dragons. He always manages to turn any conversation he is involved into a discussion about the merits of the LightWeaver and Her glorious power, the gifts She bestows upon them, the beauty She weaves into the land and the life within it. He gets a little peeved if the dragon he's talking to tunes out or tries to leave, but he can never hold a grudge and his mind quickly turns to other things.
