FEEL MY WRATH
"I'm not sure if your son will survive." The doctor seemed cold from behind the beaked mask he wore. The three carcasses surrounding them were covered in blood-stained sheets. "The Plague is alive within him. The father seemed to have had a particular weakness to this strain and passed it on." His words were true. Her mate had fallen prey to the illness first, and then her two daughters passed away. Only she and her eldest son, her firstborn, remained. "It seems bleak. I think the sickness is too strong for him." The doctor's voice, for the first time, softened a little bit. "I'm sorry."

But the mother shook her head. "He is stronger," she whispered.
Mistmar's mother was right, to the misfortune of others. He beat the Plague back to its bones, and came out, not only alive, but with a strange power. His wings began to glow with a steady beat when danger drew near.

When it first began, his wings just seemed to shine at random times. Strolling through the woods. Eating prey at home. Tussling with other hatchlings. Only later did he realize that he was subconsciously sensing a mad dragon intent on killing as many others as he could. He discovered his powers after his wings started to flare madly in the middle of the woods and the dragon leaped at him. He was spooked from his wings acting up again and escaped easily.

He experimented, testing the limits of his powers. They sensed living things, not misfortunes such as tripping over a rock. It was strange, but gradually, the dragons in his clan accepted it. It's a gift from the Plaguemother. She tested your mettle and rewarded you when you triumphed.

However, he became extremely superstitious, shifting his whole character to rely on his wings sensing danger. Every time they even glowed with the faintest glimmer, he became on guard instantly. In the midst of all his fear, his mind started to deteriorate.

He fled from his clan, fully convinced that everyone was out to kill him. He relied on his own instincts, fighting off dragons and gaining more enemies than friends. The only thing that made him settle down in a clan was his exhaustion. He found use by being a good guard. It rooted in every fiber of his body. But his mind continues to crumble because of one fact:

His wings never stop glowing.
