As her mother had bid - she was to be a warrior, fighting for the sanctity of the cosmos and her brothers and sisters. Who was she to say otherwise? A being born from her brother's fallen ashes, bearing his skull upon her stride, hearing his whispers in the swarm that followed her every move. She was to be a warrior, it was her duty.

The stars were under an invisible hierarchy, one that only the highest could see and the lowest could only hope to visualize. It was her mother who held sight of all that she could not - that her daughter was a mere warrior for a cause that could easily kill her, that Xern's lost brother was a pawn that she used to train the poor girl, that the cause they so eagerly sought was a ploy. But, she didn't know, she was blind to the truth.

Xern is a pacifistic being, despite her duty may have you believe. If she upholds it, it is a suggestion of the future but for now - she holds the belief that she may never wield her talons against any living or lost being. Incredibly sweet and kind to many, her stuttering roar furthers her saccharine exterior and interior image. To be by her side is to have the protection of a guardian angel and to be kissed by her maw is to feel a star's touch.
