He was a citizen of the famed Golden City, and he is a victim of the part of history no one knew about it. Aurelius was the son of a wealthy merchant, and he grew up with everything at his fingertips. - OK Big lore upheaval idea-- Empire D'Or. French-based empire, but overall general melting pot. Declining in its age, incompetent leadership. Big class divide- poor move to Desara and start subgroup (!), it's the underbelly and thriving black market of Empire. Anya fled there, taking Azara with her. Azara sways Desara to her side, then the nobility, and eventually has a brutal revolution, killing the royal family overnight and taking over. Public opinion on her side at first as she revives economy and starts gaining prosperity for Empire again, but she eventually grows power mad and rules with an iron fist to where everyone's too scared to admit they hate her guts now. That sets stage for rest of lore but establishes a stronger foundation for Clan!! I'm happy :D Also this is how Aurelius comes in- he's a spirit bound to the dais and carried in the crown. Whether he predicts tragedy or brings it is unclear, but he always seems to be caught in the middle of it. 1. Where do you live on your flight's map?
The Golden Court's palace is situated at the edge of Light, on the cliff at the end of the Hewn City facing Lightning and Water. The island of Desara (where Azara goes when she's exiled) is on the opposite side of the Great River, next to the woods between Shadow and Light (I'm excited for the arc that introduces that!!)

2. What does it look like before you enter? What is the grand facade that you show to the world that this, THIS is your home!
The Court has four marble spires at each corner of the city, curving into the sky like an ancient beast's bones. They're tall than the Palace itself, and have thousands of golden runes etched into them that only appear on the Summer Solstice. The tips are made of glass and open up to a landing window for entrance via flight, and from it, it's possible to watch the whole clan. Because of this, the Clan uses Spires for guard towers. Gold lined paths carve trails from the Spires to the Orosian Dais, which is the focal point of the entire clan.

3. Now let’s work on the inside. What facilities will you need to service your clan? Try drawing a map!
Ideas include:
Sleeping areas
Storage for: Food, Hoardstuff (what do you hoard?), Metals,
Hatchery
A place to relax or entertain
Beastmaster area for keeping familiars
Research: Library, Magic, Schooling (basic knowledge, flight school, magic training etc),
Production: Forge, Winery, Kitchen, Farms, Potions or Brewing, Textiles, Jewelry, Spot to assemble hunters and gatherers
Other: Trading Post, Shop, Doctor/Pharmacy, Pantry, Hoard, Cellar, Prison, Barracks for guards and/or patrols, Gardens or other types of decoration.

4. Since you have that map out, do you stick to FR’s official dragon sizes? If so, make sure you have passageways for your largest dragons. Do your smaller dragons keep their own mini-colony somewhere?

5. It’s a good time to think about technology.
How technologically advanced is your clan? Do they live in "traditional" caves or a grand palace built by the best craftsmen with all the modern comforts of a home? Do they use tools to help them hunt or is it all claws and teeth? What about armor? Is it used for hunting or strictly for battle?
What about comforts? Do you use electricity or torches? Is there air conditioning or heaters? What do the beds look like? If you use blankets, who makes them? What does your hatchery or nursery look like? Is your clan literate?
