BIOGRAPHY

Beloved is more than just a rock, a stone to be looked at.

She is her own dragon, with her own life to lead.

She and Chelonate were a part of a circus in the Plaguelands, as some kind of freak show. It was as if anyone who came to stare at them had never seen dragons with hides made out of crystal. And Beloved had a turquoise stone embedded in her back. She knew she could be a powerful magic user one day, perhaps using her magic to aid in her dancing.

When it came time, she and Chelonate planned an escape. When trying to squeeze her lithe body through the cage, the gemstone on her lower back was scratched by the iron bars. Beloved felt the effects immediately; her magic would be hard to control, might even cause her pain to use. There was no way to be sure.

They could barely understand each other, but a bond was formed between them that would last an age.

Hungry and tired, they arrived at the outskirts of the Nature territories where the Heart was alerted to their presence. Periphae willingly took the two dragons into the Grotto, where Ptera cared for them until they were well.

Despite the horrors that Beloved has been subjected to, she still wants to travel, to see what the world has to offer. With Chel, her dearest friend and important one, by her side, she wanders throughout Sorinth, always coming home again to share what she has discovered with the clan that gave her shelter, and the Matriarch and her heirs that she respects above all else.

Beloved, as a result of having her gem cracked, tends to only use her magic in dire situations. Not only that, but she has a habit of using her claws to put small scratches on any turquoise gems she has found lying around, not daring to tell anyone. Only Chelonate truly realizes her sorrow of seeing these perfect gems, especially on the anniversary of that day... A day they both cherish, but a day both wonderful and painful for her. The day they both escaped...

Personality
Beloved may seem vain, aloof, and self-centered, but her bravado hides a wounded soul that few dragons get to see. Mistreated in her youth, she trusts precious few, and can be hard to get to know. The more she brags, the more certain it is that she is unsure of herself. If she feels cornered or senses that the intentions of others are not pure, she will lie, as she feels that the further she retreats into herself, the safer she becomes.

This dragon originates from a part of the Starfall Isles called Columba Point, where meteorites tend to fall constantly. Some of these meteorites tend to carry alien gemstones with their own magical energy, that is further warped by the arcane energy of Starfall Isles in general. As a result, the magical energy of the meteorite becomes almost infectious, but localized only to where they fall, which just happens to be around Columba Point.

The energy that radiates from the meteorites affects the dragons around it not in a negative way, but almost in a positive way. It causes the magical energy of the dragon to gain a physical form as a gemstone attached to the dragon's body, and almost acts as a sort of limb or external organ that amplifies the dragon's magic and makes it more powerful. If the gemstone becomes harmed, it affects the dragon's ability to use magic. If it becomes completely shattered or removed from the body, the spot where the gemstone was removed becomes extremely sensitive and painful to touch, and the dragon loses the ability to use any form of magic.

This dragon's magic has physically manifested as a turquoise gemstone on her lower back. She is very adventurous, and will go to great lengths to explore new areas. It's very rare for her to get injured, as she has inherited her mother Banshee's crystalline hide. Also like her mother, she enjoys dance, but she will always be an explorer at heart.
