Some would say she had a simple life. She was born poor, but she was an only child, so her parents scraped enough money to send her to school. From there, she worked to the library as a scribe, writing books she could never afford. The only bright side in her life was the noble's daughter who visited the library, Sarafina. She was beautiful, and out of her reach.

She knew she would have to part with Sarafina soon. Nobles married other nobles, and Sarafina's parents were talking about mates. Still, she couldn't refuse a trip to a nearby village to visit their library, courtesy of Sarafina's status. They never made it to the library.

There was this fear that the others would know she was an imposter, but none cared. They accepted the two of them with open arms. Sarafina fit perfectly, as if she belonged. It took some time, but she learned, encouraged by Sarafina and the King.

She loved this new world, one where Sarafina wasn't out of her reach. The King offered them a new life, one where they were equal, could love each other without worrying about status or suitors. Their chambers were lined in soft silk, but that was nothing compared to the softness of Sarafina's embrace.
