  A B O U T
Milo is a linguist by trade and an eternal scholar at heart, studying everything from the now-dead tongues of the first dragon clans to the unfamiliar but nonetheless fascinating dialects of the various beastclans. He is passingly fluent in many, though he is always eager to learn more. He loves tracking down and reading old scrolls and artifacts, satisfied even with learning pieces of languages that no dragon recalls anymore.

He has recently been making efforts to learn coatl from Tamlin and Bree, though fae sign language continues to elude him. He tries his best, but ears and whiskers can’t quite approximate the complexity of fae frills.

Milo is a well-mannered drake, if a bit awkward and out of touch at times. He’s often so invested in his books and scrolls that he isn’t quite attuned to the dragons around him. However, if one manages to get his attention, they will find that he is a polite listener and is more than happy to share his work with any who express interest.

  H I S T O R Y
Milo was born to two archaeologists in the Southern Icefield. Much of his childhood was spent nosing through his parents’ dig sites and rummaging through their extensive notes even before he was old enough to understand what they meant. He grew up immersed in the world of ancient dragons and developed a fascination with their languages and all that had emerged since.

When he came of age and decided to embark on an expedition of his own, his parents were overjoyed to send him off with enough treasure to get him started and the promise to write. He set off toward the Dragonhome, searching for the shattered pillar that held some of the oldest runes known to dragonkind.

Some years into his adventures, he chanced upon a clan that lived in the area and, in exchange for his services as a translator, he was guaranteed room and board indefinitely.

He was accidentally breedchanged from a skydancer to a pearlcatcher when he happened on a scroll written in an archaic spell language. However, it doesn’t much affect his work so he doesn’t seem to mind the change, though he does miss the relaxing habit of preening and will often chew at his fur when he’s nervous.
