[Osprey]

Experimental Doctor... Sort of.

Likes: Willing patients and occasionally when clan members decide to bring home live prey. They're useful too.
Dislikes: Being called 'mad' or 'evil'. He's not. He's eccentric and progressive. But folks are afraid of him and he doesn't like that at all. He also gets rather irate when his workspace gets messed up. Things have their place and everything must be clean. Honestly.
Interests/Hobbies: Medicine is his favourite field, but he also dabbles in other types of science. He's also 100% certain that alchemy is science. He will figure it out one day.
Fact: Originally he was a wandering doctor, he spent much of his time wending through the deserts of his homeland tending to those who'd been caught unprepared for the hostile environment. Occasionally he mentions a home, but never any specifics. He always gets this weird little glint in his eye like maybe he hated them or something. It's considered better not to ask whether he 'treated' them all.

"Why don't you visit the doctor? Get that looked at."

Careful and softly spoken Osprey is unassuming upon first meeting, it's not until one has spent much time with him that it becomes evident. His sparkling smile rarely reaches his eyes, and when it does, it bodes ill. His twitchy habit of tapping his nails on any available surface slows to a stop when something interesting catches his attention. The way his shuffles his wings, shrugs his shoulders, shivers along his spine in a manner that ripples an echo through his spines... it doesn't mean anything good for the onlooker. Ever.

See, Osprey likes to know how things work, and more importantly, he likes to know how to fix them. This sentiment is not uncommon among Lightning dragons. The unfortunate catch with Osprey is that he's particularly fascinated by living things. Corpses have been found sliced open and pulled painstakingly apart by the ridgeback in an attempt to discover how things function in a biological sense. Sometimes, perfectly hale visitors drop dead of seemingly natural causes overnight only for Osprey to insist they be donated to his studies, never mind their family or friends, he has a right to their body. The little room full of caged animals he keeps for those nights when he can't sleep from the not knowing are best left unacknowledged.

However, when not being creepy and altogether unprofessional, Osprey makes quite a passable doctor. His knowledge of illness and other ailments as well as an almost encyclopedic understanding of how to fix those problems make him an excellent option for treatment. His bedside manner, though... well it leaves a lot to be desired.
