N O T E S
~ It was Marva's day, and I was expecting the unexpected. Odd writings, peculiar eyes, maybe even some rather unappealing apparel, but nothing... nothing could have prepared me for this. Why, you ask? Well, simply put- Candles. Fighting candles. Strong and mighty candles. Candles that had sentience and were actually quite poetic, surprisingly enough. They were living candles. L I V I N G C A N D L E S. I was baffled (and still am). They are quite the anomaly. They are multiple... things (for a lack of a better word as creature didn't quite seem fit), and yet they move and act and think as one, as though they are a singular thing. But I digress. I will continue to study them in detail as they don't appear displeased at my interest in studying them. Log #34: Author Unknown ~ I have spent much time getting to know the candles, although as you might have guessed, I have learned little aside from the fact that they would prefer it if I referred to them as "Glory" instead of "the candles". However, today they informed me of something I found rather odd. According to them (Glory), they were birthed in one of the Flamecaller's forges by a molten slab of metal and sentient magma. Glory referred to the metal as "Father Fury" and the magma as "Mother Flow". And I thought nothing could have been more ridiculous than sentient candles. Now they're claiming that their father was a slab of metal and their mother was sentient magma! I mean, can you imagine that?! A piece of metal and some magma giving birth to C A N D L E S. I think I need to go to bed now. Log #????: Author Unknown ~ Initially, I started studying these candles purely for academic purposes. After all, not many other beastclan scholars had ever come across sentient candles, let alone ones that had seemingly been born from sentient magma and metal that used to be dragons. Drakes are bizarre... Still, despite my confusions, I continued to study. As I studied, I couldn't decide whether they were a strange, cosmic anomaly or a natural miracle. I certainly hadn't expected been expecting them to be as strong as they were. Speaking of which, they are apparently considered so strong by fellow pirates in the Alliance of Frozen Gears that Glory TRAINS NEW RECRUITS. CANDLES. TRAINING. DRAGONS. And not only that, but hard as nails pirate dragons! It is utterly absurd in concept to anyone who has not met Glory. And I don't mean just study, I mean truly [/ii]meet. I did. Well, at first it was studying. I tried to be discrete about it, but they are highly intelligent candles. The more I studied, the more I wanted to know, and the more I wanted to know, the more Glory would tell me stories and speak with me, and as that happened... I sort of lost interest in studying. It was far greater to me to accompany Glory wherever they went. They were incredibly charming candles to be around. Nothing was dull, and my eyes were opened to them. Dragons weren't as brutish as I thought.
