"Settle down little ones, now is not the time to fight. Save it for when you're strong enough to protect yourselves."
 Marissa wasn't sure why she was so compelled to leave the comfort of her birthclan for the Wastelands. One day she just decided it would be a good idea.

She came to the clan like many others did, lonesome and wandering without a purpose. She stumbled into the clan's territory and explained herself to the leader. Queen Dalila could sense that she was lost. So the clan took her in and gave her a job.

One thing Marissa never thought she would do is work with hatchlings. At first she was horrid at it, constantly losing the hatchlings, only for them to turn up in the lab. She still doesn't know why the lab draws so many young dragons to it. As the months passed she found herself improving greatly. No longer did she lose the hatchlings (except for that one time when Antares got into the hoard and took a large amount of gems the clan had been saving.) Seeing as Antares was her ward she ended up taking the blame for that incident. She remembers Dalila simply looking her in the eyes and saying, "My friend is forgiven."

That was the day she learned a lesson about Dalila. She was forgiving, a rare trait in the Wastelands.
