B I O G R A P H Y

Main Theme

______ Julian and Grinder spent many long days meticulously crafting Cali, perhaps their greatest creation to date. They holed themselves up in the Laboratory from the creation of the idea to the last test run of their golem. They stepped back and nodded approvingly at their steam-powered creation, tilting their heads at the fire that escaped the vents on her arms, torso, and legs. That wasn’t supposed to happen. Oh, well.

Upon her first mechanical breath on Sornieth, Cali was given a task. Not an incredibly important one, but one nonetheless. She was to keep order in Ayanous’s hotel at night or whenever he couldn’t afford to be there. Thought not programmed to say any specific phrases, guests came to Ayanous complaining of Cali walking up and down the halls of the hotel saying things like, “I am programmed to receive” and “Welcome to the hotel”--the latter phrase coming from when she manned the front desk. Ayanous didn’t care to take Cali to be fixed. Her speech patterns added to the ambiance of the dim hotel.
