A lonely Plague dragon, seeking his fate

Florian is the last of a sad legacy. The father and siblings he loved left the nest to serve beneath Plaguebringer, leaving himself and his mother more alone with each passing day. His mother was a kind leader of their flight, known to be home to a large number of strays, but when she began to name the new dragons of her flight - nameless wander hatchlings with nowhere to go - after her mate and absent children, he knew he couldn't stay much longer. Telling his mother he would seek his fortune, he left Plaguebringer's domain and went searching.

Eventually, exhausted, hungry, and grieving, he collapsed in the land of Shadowbinder, the Tangled Wood. Known for its haunted groves and cruel, slippery dragons, Florian was certain his life had come to an end.

Luckily, nearby a pair of dragons, fled from their respective flights and nursing their first clutch, heard the noise of his fall. Though he originally feared for his life - his rescuer was a Mirror dragon, known for their savagery and their intense dislike of outsiders - he found himself being, unexpectedly, nursed back to health by the pair.

These two, he learned as he slowly regained strength, were like him - outcasts and anomalies. A Mirror who loved a Fae, who sought companionship instead of violence, who served the lord of deception but also of nighttime and rest. A Fae with no home. They asked Florian to join their flight, and become a new haven for the dispossessed - and he agreed.

He still sends correspondence to his mother, not willing to deprive her of her last family. He hopes beyond hope that she will eventually leave her grief behind and live to the fullest - but he knows he has his own life to live as well.
