There's rumors about him, alright. Some of the hatchlings say when you see something move out of the corner of your eye as you're falling asleep, like a darker shadow danced across your vision that vanishes under the scrutiny of your gaze, that it's Naungan hiding from you, always watching, never acting. A few of the older dragons gossip about him, where he always could be, why he's never visible.

But Naungan, being nocturnal, has never been one for the light at all. He grew up alone, wandering by the light of the stars, and sleeping out in the open, warmed only by the sun. One would assume he'd been lonely, but he was actually quite happy. He navigated himself with the stars, wandering throughout the plains as his wind instincts drove him to. When he was in need, he'd steal a couple of meals from a sleeping clan and slink off into the night to feed himself. He never stole too much from the same clan, and sometimes if he had surplus, food, he'd even repay them so they had a little extra when they woke. It was alright.

He didn't really thrive until he wandered into the Shifting Expanse one night after heading due south. The storms startled him. He'd never felt so much rain on himself at once, and it was a cold winter rain that drove between his spines and sent shivers down his back. In a panic, he did the unthinkable: he ducked into a nearby lair, hoping for something, anything, to keep the lightning away.

When the clan awoke, they found a new member slumbering amongst them, shivering and curled up by the fire.

Some of the hatchlings are still scared of him, but Naungan doesn't mind. The nice thing about the Shifting Expanse is that there's always somewhere to work, even in the wee hours of the morning. So nowadays, he guards a metalworking plant at night, and brings in a paycheck for his new clan, who he's more than grateful for. But he always hides way in the back of the lair to sleep during the day to escape the noise, since he's used more to the quiet... Which prompts people to wonder where he ever goes off to. But he's alright.
