Biography
Cassianus
The Hidden Prince Reserved | Cautious | Curious "I have only ever known the domain I was raised to rule. What more could I want? Can I want more? I have to know what is out there, first. Maybe I should take a look." - Cassianus Two Faces of the Same Coin Mate ???? X ???? X ???? [X - 161613] |
Cassianus has only ever known the very limited world he was raised in. A world of darkness, intrigue, and battle. Hatched from an egg stranded in the Ghostlight ruins he was found and raised by a spirit ailed by a loss of memories. This spirit, with no known purpose, took the newly hatched dragon to raise as its own. It had to, it felt, there was some unknown potential locked within the feeble form of a the infant skydancer. Power, promise, destruction. So many possibilities. None absolute. And so they bonded.
He grew to become the sole guardian of the Ruins, the beastclans residing within teaching him survival and ferocity in order to properly reign of the desolate land. The crown of bones atop his head was a gift from the collective clans the day he officially took the 'throne', accepting his fate as Prince of the Ghostlight Ruins. He stands resolute and swears to all those who look up to him to be their guide, their protector, their one and only Prince (and occasional hoarder of pretty shiny things he finds most delightful.) Years turned to decades and spirits came and went. He did not waver, did not question, did not stray. He was given a task by those who raised him and in turn he would repay their kindness and stand as their shield from invaders of which there were a rather alarming amount. And then he saw it, one day in the mist. Another dragon, sleek in frame and sporting feathers like his own. A whip tail with a tuft of feathers at the end, a birdlike maw and frail hands able to grab and claw with ease. Eyes burning like fire in the darkness. A dragon so like himself but so vibrant, so alive. Who were they? There were more like himself? Where did they come from?
And so, the questions began. The curiously burned away at him. And he started to study.
In the past few months Cassinius has dawned a mask, a mask that hides his face as much as his own soul from the newcomers who incessantly invade his home. He follows them to the edges of his territory, curious and quiet and studying. Sometimes they will catch glimpses of his fierce orange eyes and give chase. But he is too swift, to familiar with the land, too afraid of what might happen if he is caught. Would he be forced to leave? Would they harm him? Would they ask him questions and answer his own? Ask them to leave with him? This charade continues and he waits, waits patiently in the shadows. One day, maybe, he might see more of the world. Might step over the boundaries of his kingom and see what lays beyond all that is his world.
One day.
