For as long as Haven Horizon has been around, there has been Apophis. The mother, the matriarch- the lifeblood of our community. She built this place with her own claws, modelling homes and parks after the lush safety of the Everbloom Gardens in the Gladekeeper’s realm, giving jobs and meaning to those with nothing. Artists, merchants, bookkeepers, architects- anything a dragon could want to be is welcomed with open arms and all the love in her heart. She has always been the motherly type.

Not much is known about Apophis herself. She brings in those with nowhere else to go, gives them a hearth and a home and a break from whatever they’re running from. She may very well be adopting them all, from the way she dotes on her community! Every dragon in Haven Horizon knows that she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her corner of the world safe. From negotiations with other clans to full-on bribery and extortion, Apophis puts family above everything else, blood more valuable than all the gold in the world. Her own life, however... is shrouded in mystery, secrets held close to her chest and carefully buried with those who would reveal them.

The question is: does any of that matter? Every kingdom has its fair share of problems, especially in the beginning; especially when the inhabitants don’t fully comprehend the consequences. It’s no trouble, really; our mother is patient and forgiving. She cares for us like no one else could, and isn’t this just a small price to pay for the safety and love she provides? We have a home here. New life and new growth and new connections being made every day as more and more dragons end up finding a place in our community. Apophis has done us no wrong. She looks out for us. She cares for us. She is our mother.
