Ricochet

An extremely loyal dragon, Ricochet lets absolutely nothing get in his way - not Beastclans, not other dragons, and certainly not his own feelings. He is very prone to putting himself second and others first - his life has always dictated that others are much more important. He is a loving dragon with a big heart, but he often bottles up his feelings and has a bad habit of blaming himself when something goes wrong.

At a young age Ricochet set out to study medicine; he had several trainers, teachers and masters of the medical arts throughout his youth, and eventually necessity brought him to the Miasmic Kingdom, to treat the cursed King of Beasts. He failed, but stayed in the Kingdom anyway after forging a bond with the up-and-coming Captain of the Guard, Tamara. The two became fast friends, and Ricochet, only barely an adult, joined the Guard as a field medic.

From then on his life was plagued by the constant entrappings of border skirmishes and thinly-veiled war; he became swifter than nearly any dragon, responding within seconds of a call for help. While he has always been proud of his work, it began to take a toll on him and caused him to age mentally much quicker than physically. His family is very spread out, and he has had few positive attachments in his life.

As the sole field medic to the Miasmic Kingdom, he serves all dragons equally; his specialty is fast-paced, life saving procedures on the field and safe transport to more capable medical staff. His work is physically, emotionally, and mentally very demanding; during months when the Beastclans grow restless, or the Guards are constantly at odds with neighboring thieves, warriors, and lesser clans, Ricochet works tirelessly, often without rest. He owes his ability to continue going to the runes he pockets during work hours.

Reaper is Ricochet's lifelong companion. The two work in tandem on the field, with Reaper's capable hands working overtime to make sure that Ricochet's work is done. He does his best to keep the emotional load off his partner, as he is very aware how deaths affect Ricochet's mental stability. Should a dragon not make it on the field or in medical care, Reaper takes over to spare Ricochet the pain of watching.
