"Salirenes! Kidheldatst ravas Vidya tra dhelran ta Prasenkatevat ta zulem aste. Vos kitalain ala pras cuandava, kiprasran. Toh! Kret uron, hadeseran ainen siken geant yi ravas atemidedroc ala souht. Menkuhe dayet!"

"Hello! My name is Vidya and I'm the clan's librarian. If you want to know anything, I know. Oh! But first, I'll give you this book about my Subspecies to start. Have fun!"

It is thought that, in the beginning of dragonkind reign, the Lightweaver fashioned herself children to tend to her libraries and safeguard her knowledge. These Tapanara made in the likeness of the libraries' rich tapestries, rugs, and windows took counsel from the Lightweaver, transcribing her memory of the early world into written word. Still others flew out into other territories to divine their history, returning only to create tomes out of what they had learned. Many never returned at all. They read as they worked and developed keen minds, perfect for recalling the most mundane of facts and casting the most difficult of spells. As the centuries passed and dragons grew more populous, the need for specialized librarians and historians diminished; any dragon, properly trained, could write books and practice magic. Old tomes were lost, and the Tapanara numbers dwindled until they were nothing more than a once-respected breed.

Tapanara are exceptionally intelligent and very adept magic users. The few lines that remain passed down the secrets of the first libraries to the current generation, and it's no secret that the Tapanara are as secretive with their hidden knowledge as they are adept in it. They make naturally good librarians and seem to know history that few others do. Tapanara Nox are more inclined to be guardians, whereas Tapanara Fae tend to be the scholarly bookkeepers.

At this point, the clan was used to Vidya not paying attention and sticking her nose in one of the many books in her small hoard. And even more than that, spitting our random phrases of other languages in the middle of a conversation. She was the oddball, and they loved her. They kept her from bumping into other dragons when she wandered, and reminded her when they didn’t speak a certain language.

But, she could practice her skills and improve the clan in many ways. She could talk with the many dragons form other flights who spoke their languages. There were some from everywhere. That is, except for Lightning, for now. She hoped to someday venture into the Shifting Expanse to meet up with subspecies and find some to join her clan.

When she wasn’t practicing conversing or reading a book, she was teaching the young. They all heard their parents talk to them when they were in eggs, but they still had to learn. She taught the youngest both Ursegal and Lumiosa. All the youngest dragons now knew these because of her intrigue in languages, and her yearning to help. She had a few very busy first months analyzing and introducing languages to the clan’s dragons. Now that it was settled down, all the younglings could speak both native languages fluently, and the brightest learned more. However, her ongoing project was to teach the older dragons. As it is said that older drakes learn slower, she was determined to keep them sharp and fluent in both. For the native dragons, her teaching was spoken in words they knew, but she challenged them with fast paced speaking and activities.

The ever-needed job was hers, and she kept up. But when she wasn’t busy was an impossible thing. On occasion, she would not appear for days. Not even the drakes with the best eyes could find her. Her Tapanara genes kept her well hidden in her library, and the poor fae was very prone to migranes. Still, she had hopes. She had dreams. And her secret, deepest desire was to find one like her, one of the species. Someone to love and hold onto.

"And that was when she found him. Any ordinary day wouldn't have marked the occasion, but she could remember the exact day vividly. It was the middle of a Light festival during spring. She had gone out to relax from her duties. And she bumped straight into a much larger dragon. That is, since she was the smallest in the clan, he was a good 6 times her size. She looked up into eyes filled with intellect and curiosity. She backwinged a bit, mumbled a sorry and blinked in surprise. This was another of her kind. One that could understand her. And he had fallen straight into her claws. No more needed to be said for her to be friendly, she was excited and nothing could stop her from learning, as the pursuit of knowledge was her true mission. But after spending a moon with him, that was no longer her mission at all, he had become the center of her attentions, the center of her world.
