Eclipse was a dragon with little left to lose. His old home was nothing but a memory tainted by nostalgia and nightmares alike, and his body, though he'd learned how to live in it, had changed so rapidly and was so far removed from what it once was that it no longer felt like his own, at times.

His mind, at least, was still his. Worn down and scarred, but wholly his own. And so was his attire, though it held much less importance - Eclipse could live without the cheap wig and well-worn scarf if he had to, even if he wouldn't be happy about it. And for a long time, that was all he had, as he wandered across Sornieth in a daze, with no one he knew left to care about and care for him and nothing to dream or hope for (that wasn't the impossible, that is).

Eclipse isn't really sure when he stumbled onto the Compass' grounds, too addled by hunger and bone-deep exhaustion to remain conscious. And he doesn't know how a visit from an eccentric mechanic to ensure all his parts, still foreign-feeling after all these years, were still in working order resulted in finding a second home. But he does know that these people have finally given him a chance to truly start living again, instead of just surviving.

Eclipse is a dragon with little left to lose, but he'll hold onto what he's found with all his might.
