Iolite, the Guardian eager to travel. She loves to burrow in the snow and Ice, and explore the other flight domains (Which Malachite eventually forbade her to do.) Her best friend Akoya came from the same lair as her, which was under the rule of an Imperial named Marble. Iolite is very attached to Akoya, since she's the only one who truly understands her... and what it feels like to move lairs at a young age.


Despite being forbidden from travel, Iolite found herself on Arcane grounds for a time, in the clan of Apollis. During that time she found herself mingling easily with the clan. Another ice dragon, a Coatl named Corporeal seemed to enjoy guiding her about the observatory. However, he was an easily distracted fellow, and in the observatory Iolite found herself curious about a fae there named Phobos. He was pouring over scrolls when she approached, darkened purple eyes hinting at his shadow origins even as Arcanist texts littered his space.

They spoke for a time, under the stars of the open observatory, and Phobos told a tale that seemed nearly too frightening to be true, despite the monotone in which it was spoken. A competition he'd been entered in at random, a game played with claws and teeth and blades. He'd been the victor of the Seventy-Fourth Arcane Hunger Games against terrible odds and retired to his studies ever since.
