Knockout serves as the clan's architect. He is a master at making sure the lair is architecturaly sound, and is the leader of the clan only when expanding the lair to make sure nothing caves in. He helps maintain the nests of all the dragons, inspecting every nook and cranny to make sure everything is up to standard.
He met his familiar, Rinsefell, when traveling with Iluri on a fur hunting trip. Rinsefell was only a puppy then, abandoned by his pack because of a rare defect that affected the familiar's sense of smell. Knockout pitied his situation and adopted him as his own, and Rinsefell now serves as a deeply loyal guardian to both Knockout and Iluri, accompanying them wherever they go.
Knockout met Iluri in the medical wing of Iluri's clan's lair. Although he was frightened to do so, he revealed to Pablo that he was framed for the supposed murder of his former clan's deputy. He expressed to Pablo that he was wrongly accused of the crime, and pleaded refuge among Pablo's clan for protection. Pablo granted him this only as long as Knockout would serve as the clan's leading architect, and he agreed. Realising he owed his life to Iluri's grace, he has devoted his time to her and maintains a healthy relationship with Iluri, only asking in return that she helps hide his true identity in public.
He keeps his bands as a solid reminder of who had betrayed him in the past, despite them being a beacon of hate and negativity.
