Uh-oh, looks like this energetic researcher wandered a little too far from her home lair, graphicmacaroon (277794), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return him/her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful! 3/14/2017 - 4/18/2017 #277794 fire Raised by the chantry leader to fear the dangers of the outside world, Heleentje couldn't quite shake the desire to explore. While her siblings were happy to go to serve the Flamecaller, she put it off, with various excuses. Though her father would've been satisfied with her staying in Crownfire all of her life, Hel couldn't deny the drive to get out into the world and learn. When she was old enough, she told her father goodbye and wandered away from the chantry, imagining herself following in her parent's footsteps. 04/18/2017 - 04/26/2017 #212075 plague Her first stop: the library at Namesong. Even from her home in Fire territory, she had received whispers of a great trove of knowledge; a collection of stories and histories that were kept in a nearly hidden collection far beneath the Reedcleft Ascent. After much travel, she finally located the clan... to find it had moved, leaving only a simple note on the door. Not deterred in the slightest, she made her way to plague territory, finding the clan's new lair by following the trail of ink and various concoctions that had been spilled along the way by a careless clanmate. Once there, she engrossed herself in their library, learning of all the clan's history and findings, along with various other stories- both fictional and fact. She probably would have been content to stay here longer, had Libra not been pushed into the Traveler's Den, confused, nervous, and completely interesting. She heard his life's story almost immediately, and was fascinated and amused with the fact that he had been in... relations with a stray nature spirit that tended to haunt the Namesong Clan's abode. Deciding he could prove an interesting source of both research and companionship, she offered to travel with him to the northern regions of Sornieth. She teased him that she would protect him from any more stray spirits that wanted to 'get to know' him, and he, laughing for the first time, agreed to go with her. Together they set off, hoping to make either the Viridian Labyrinth or possibly the Hewn City before too long to relax and do more research. 04/27/2017 - ditto #12962 Light The dragons here are really odd. On the surface, they seem united - a terrifyingly organized clan, where everone pledge loyalty to their leader and to the state. But under the surface? Everyone is flawed, and none are as heartless as they strive to make it seem. We shared shelter with a tundra and a fae. They housed us like we were intruders, yet treated us like guests. And they spoke of the great temple, where It was on display. Libra asked what it was, and they went on to describe it to him. I think he wants to check it out - his previous experiences truly kindled his curiosity. As for me, I am not as enthused... I said I'd be here waiting for him, and that we'd be leaving come morning, no matter what. Morning came, alright. Libra didn't... I went looking for him, and the snapper told me he probaby left without me. Very rude! He would never! I'd stay and investigate, but then if my bad feeling is right, and they killed him... what's to say they wouldn't make me disappear, too? 4/27/2017 - Sparkbreeze - #295659 Lightning ~ I have been worried about my partner for a while, I hope he's fine... Me and my familiar have found our way to a Lightning clan, well known for it's fascination with rocks, gems and various similar objects. I'm hoping they will be friendly like the clans I have visited in the past. 5/11/2018 - CirqueAerien- #221648 Wind ~ Heleentje arrived at the circus alone. She showed up in the early morning, and stayed through all the performance of the day, barely moving from her chosen seat. The performers started to whisper as the sun went down, wondering who this bright visitor was with graphite smudged on her claws. When the ringleader called goodnight after the last show, she finally got up and slowly walked forward into the light. She asked to stay, for awhile, and Lelim, head cocked, agreed. She was quiet for a long time. She was always ready to help, breaking down the rings and stages without a complaint and became immensely appreciated by Dabria and her assistants by introducing them to new and clever ways of taking notes and keeping track of all the circus' endless bookkeeping. Over time she worked in every aspect of the circus, furiously writing in her books by candlelight until crashing as dawn broke each morning. She fit in quite well - all performers are weird. Some of the other dragons took to her, and she took to some of them, even choosing to hatch a nest with two of them. The hatchlings, as with most born in the circus, found new lairs at various stops in the road. Towards the end of the year she decided to leave. She had arrived without a familiar, but had bonded with a well-trained Dodo used in one of the performances, so was granted leave to take him with her. She packed up her books, and bowed with the ringmaster during the last show as the circus prepared to move from the Abiding Boneyard to points north. 8/31/2021 - TheChatotMaestro - #353487 Arcane ~ Heleentje spent some time in the Starwood Strand with a very strange clan that seemed obsessed with research and documentation of the local history. She assisted with the less important tasks- cleaning, organizing, fetching things- but being an outsider, she wasn't trusted with writing anything down herself. Still, she made a few very good friends there. When the season changed, she decided to move on. |
