Biography

Sunspark subspecies

The Sunspark subspecies hadn't had any offspring seen in the fire lands for a very long time. There was once a Great War between the beastclan harpies from the lightenings land, forcing majority of the fire subspecies clans to fight for their flight. When the war finished there was no trace of the fallen sunsparks subspecies left as well as many others. Other survivors of the war said that their eggs were left unprotected when a surprise attack occurred, the eggs were smashed into the ground; killing anything inside. Those who had fought in the fields vanished and left no trails of war behind. They were persumed an extinct species until one early morning a young male pearcatcher could be seen flying around the old battlefield with a little Sunspot Clouddancer tailing behind.

The harpies that could still fly went in and attacked the now defenceless eggs. One by one yolk spilled out of the glowing red eggs, leaving the fields covered in an orange spill. After three quarters of the eggs were smashed a messenger quickly flew in to tell them to stop smashing and to take the rest in. The harpies carried the eggs two at a time and flew them back to their dungeons. Once all the eggs were gathered, the eggs were to be left in the cold cell and wait for the leaders next call. By the time the harpy leader called for the eggs to be moved again they all were frozen and lifeless but the one in the center. Infuriated, the harpy leader chucked the warm egg off a cliffside and went on to smash the rest of the eggs.

That warm egg never did hit the solid ground, but instead landed inside of a heavily padded Sunspot Clouddancer nest. When the Sunspot nest owners realised that was not one of their own eggs they immediately went over to investigate it. The egg was still warm and layed next to the only other egg in the nest. The Sunspot Clouddancer didn't sense any danger comming from it and decided to keep it, going back into their positions. Over time the Sunspot Clouddancers continued to look after the eggs very carefully and waited patiently for the day the eggs would hatch. The Sunspot egg hatched first with a fuzzy little bird peeping loudly for its parents. It took years and years of looking after the egg, perhaps the trauma or coldness of their home slowed the hatching process but nonetheless; after a lovely sunny day was setting, the dragon egg hatched and revealed a pearlcatcher with very similar colours to the Sunspots. The sunspots didn't seem to mind (maybe it was due to the similar colouring or maybe they were just freindlier than most of their kind) and helped keep it alive with their own youngling.

He never felt right. His parents were always saying he was just a special type of Clouddancer but he knew something was wrong when he grew twice the size of his parents. His brother would always be by his side, begging his parents to tell him the story of how he wound up here but they never did. Arun tried to fit in with his "kind". He had his scales pulled out from his backend and stomach, cut off his long whiskers, dyed his hair brown, never showed his pearl; he even went so far to grinding his mouth into a beak shape but it was just never enough. Something wasn't right. His parents finally told him that he wasn't a sunspot when he had reached his adolescence. His parents gathered Arun and his little son and told the tale of how they found him. Arun was astounded by the tale. He felt the drive to go to his real... home even more than usual. His parents didn't stop him but told him they would always see him as their child as he headed off for the land of fire. What Arun didn't know was that his little brother followed him and by the time he did realise they were too far gone to head back.

They flew for days, rarely stoping for food and drink breaks. The distance was agonisingly long but after what seemed to be years, the ground started to change colour to a shade of grey and the smell of fire could be smelt. They made it. They flew around for a while until they reached some flat land in the middle of nowhere. They circled it for a bit before landing on the crumbly soil. This was their first time touching anything like this and it immediately made Arun feel happy. He knew this was where he was meant to live. They played on the soil for a couple of minutes until Aruns brother squealed at something comming towards them. Arun immediately went on the defence, preparing for the attacker. A giant guardian landed nearby and slowly approached them. When the guardian got close enough it became to talk to them but Arun couldn't understand as he only knew bird. The guardian must've realised that something was wrong so it showed him it's orange eyes. Arun did the same back which made the guardian smile. The guardian looked up and made a guesture whilst starting to fly in the air. Arun didn't know why but he felt the urge to follow it. The guardian flew at a slow pace with Arun and his little brother following.

Over the next couple of years Arun learnt how to speak a common tongue and about his heritage. He was glad to see that his subspecies wasn't being called extinct anymore and was glad to see that local communities would come and help tell him stories of their kind. Aruns little brother also learnt common tongue and helps out in any way he can!
