B I O G R A P H Y

____For the longest time, forging and other such duties within the Stronghold fell to Akirin, Zirilana and one who has since left the Stronghold; an aging Guardian named Onderon. All three possessed sufficient fire-magic to craft and forge tools and armor when necessary, though none seemed to have much in the way of passion for it. Additionally, with the Stronghold being located in the Ashfall Waste, there was never any shortage of fire dragons on hand.

____However when Pentarax relocated the entire clan to the Scarred Wasteland and the old Guardian departed, they suddenly found themselves very much lacking a proper forgemaster. For several weeks thereafter, they found themselves either making due with what had been created previously, or buying weapons and armor from traveling merchants and mercenary groups.

____Aodh was a Bogsneak hatched in the alchemical division of the Obsidian Nail. From a young age he displayed a considerable proficiency in smashing objects with heavier objects, and a curiosity with seeing how flat he could make something by hitting it. As if this was not enough, he also displayed an interest in seeing how things responded to intense heat; whether they burned or melted.

____Anyone else might have seen a nuisance with behavior issues, but Pentarax happened to come upon the young Bogsneak crushing stolen coins with a hammer one day and saw potential...

An anvil is like a heart. Should it ever break, it can still be mended.

_TRINKETRY_

____Though comparatively young, Aodh already knows more about the forges in the Crimson Spear than even Akirin and Zirilana. Though Akirin is the Lorekeeper of Fire and Zirilana can handle a weapon better than anyone in the Stronghold, none know the forges or the art of metalcrafting as well as Aodh. Within seconds of studying a blade he can tell where it came from and within minutes he can identify up to half a dozen weak points in its structure where a good blow with a hammer will shatter it.

____In addition to crafting armor and weapons, Aodh also enjoys crafting trinkets and other personal heirlooms for himself. The first thing he forged was a jeweled armband whose design he copied from illustrations in a book from the Ashfall Waste. The second was a rough necklace set with polished fragments of amber; his first exercise in blending metal with stones.

____Aodh enjoys his work more than anyone else in the Stronghold with the possible exception of Ravosk, and even in casual conversation will not hesitate to share the details of his latest project.

_KILANRA_

____Originally a companion to the departed Onderon, Kilanra served the old Guardian as an able forge assistant; perhaps one more skilled than even its master in metallurgy. When the dragon departed the lair, the molten marauder was left behind. For a time it served Pentarax alongside Helspark, though its work in that capacity was more errand-running than forging or smithing.

____When the clan was established in the Scarred Wasteland, it took up residence in the Crimson Spear, assisting Zirilana and Akirin in setting up the forges, hoping that in time a more enthusiastic dragon would some day wear the hammer, gloves, and protective eyewear it had smuggled out of the Ashfall Waste in secret.

____By the time Aodh took up residence as an apprentice Forgemaster, Kilanra was there to teach him everything it knew. In time, it felt a sense of pride and contentment that it had not felt since the days of its old Guardian master.
