System Failure is a longtime Killjoy, born and raised with the nomadic song brawlers and radio jockeys. His past is long and fraught with near-death experiences. Once, his body was consumed by an arcane construct, only for him to break free from the inside, his scales forever painted with his badge of courage, new colors streaking down his wings and spotting his body. Even with his bright colors, he is a strange rarity within the Killjoys. He is voiceless.

The Killjoys fight with sound, and the rocking of the wasteland takes its toll over time. However, System Failure is in a unique place among his fellow Killjoys - he never had to worry about losing the music, beacuse he had never heard it to begin with. The vibrations through the dirt, in his chest, the resonance of drums and bass keep SF in time with the crew. His strength to carry on and make a name for himself in the limelight inspires the younger radio runners who keep washing up with the clan. SF doesn't want to be anyone's inspiration. He's a musician like everyone else, and just holds his own.

Present Mic is the main radio DJ and System Failure’s wife. She talks more than enough for the both of them, by her own admission. SF doesn’t seem to mind her expressing his thoughts and intents in her own words, and will sometimes nudge her to keep going if she doesn’t get it right the first time. The Killjoys have a sign language system, which SF does use to talk to the stage manager and other techs, but he seems to take pleasure in letting Present Mic ramble. The two of them share a complex bond, one almost akin to that between Guardian and Charge….
