Biography

NIKOLA
Warrior

Nikola was hatched to a mixed-breed clan residing in the Snowsquall Tundra, where Tundras, Guardians, Mirrors and other dragons eked out an existence side by side. The general atmosphere of tranquility served to mask a growing tension between the clan's oblivious Tundra leaders and the less hardy and more resentful members who originally hailed from outside of the Southern Icefield. Sensing that the time for a coup was drawing near, and that it very well might be bloody, Nikola's parents quickly sent him off to the Icewarden in an effort to prevent him from being drawn into the forthcoming conflict.

Early in his service, Nikola was drawn into a group of rambunctious and competitive youngsters, all sharing an interest in the art of combat. They took to sneaking out from the Fortress of Ends to seek adventure and any other sort of mischief that might serve to sharpen their skills. Unfortunately, the adolescent dragons had a tendency to overestimate their abilities, and during one expedition, an ambush by a pack of wolves sent the exaltees scattering, leaving Nikola severely wounded.

By the time that he was found by a group of the Icewarden's older servants, he had lost so much blood that they feared he would not survive. Though a team of skilled healers managed to nurse the young Mirror back to health, he retained little memory of the incident.

Over time, the Mirror grew both more experienced and more restless. In an attempt to help him find some inner peace, one of the Icewarden's senior officers granted him leave to return to his birth clan. When Nikola arrived at what was once his old lair, the remnants of his clan still dwelt there, but there were no familiar faces- his parents and all those he had considered his friends had been driven off in a series of violent struggles. Nikola stayed for only a few weeks, gathering what information he could before setting off once more. He could only hope that some of them had survived, and that somewhere beyond the veil of the Icefield's cold winds, there was someone he'd be able to call family.
