Biography
Angelica (an-GEH-LIH-kuh) Psychic-in-training Mate of None Permanent DESCRIPTION Angelica is the clan’s Psychic-in-training. This ‘title’ still makes her cringe, as Angelica believes that she deserves to be a known a full-fledged Psychic – despite knowing that her skillset is yet to be fully developed yet. Angelica comes from a long family line of mages and psychics, allowing her to ‘get her claw’s wet’ into the art at an early age. Despite having raw talent, Angelica’s haughty nature holds her back more than she knows. A psychic needs to be able to look past the physical body to gain a look into the dragon’s future but Angelica’s belief that she is better than anyone veils her eyes to look into the truth, hindering her progress in her profession. Unable, and unwilling, to see this as her problem, Angelica struggles with doubts and fears she cannot handle. Shoving these to the side to prevent damaging her ego has turned her feeling of superiority into a mask to hide how inferior she feels inside – creating an never-ending spiral for her. (Continued below...) Left: Your dragon's favorite outfit. |
Continuing bio: Angelica is a very vain dragoness. She worries about her looks, and is constantly making sure to look her best. She is also incredibly stubborn, in virtually everything. She rarely will admit that she is wrong, even when she knows she is. Her stubbornness is also shown in the way that she hates failing in something. She will work, and work at something until she gets it right. Another known trait of hers is how she acts like she is better than everyone. This is the trait that most irritates her clanmates. She will hold elaborate tea parties, with the best tea and the sweets, but she rarely allows anyone to join her. She says it is only for the elite, and so far, no one seems to live up to her standards. Despite her (many) faults, Angelica is very passionate and very smart. Her IQ is quite high and she excels at things she is passionate in. When she was young, this is how she knew she had skill in clairvoyance – she became passionate for it and she showed promise for the art. Despite her apparent-ego, Angelica holds a serious inferiority complex. To make up for this, she overcompensates with whatever she feels inferior in. Surprisingly, her psychic abilities are one of them, despite her obvious gift for it. Her looks is another. She feels like if she took off the dress up, that no one would want her, and so she is always careful with how she appears in public. “SHUT UP!” a shrill voice screamed, before a loud crash sounded behind the veils. The few dragons near the area winced, just as a maize pearlcatcher ran out of the room. She huffed, glancing back as another pearlcatcher emerged, face red in anger. “I was just saying…” Sunny mumbled, adjusting her hold on her pearl. The second pearlcatcher face darkened further, “I’m the psychic! I would know better than you!” Angelica snapped, her pretty face twisted in anger. Sunny glared back unaffected, “oh yeah? Then why couldn’t you read my future? If you were so amazing, then your magic ball wouldn’t have been cloudy!” Something flashed across Angelica’s face. Sunny hesitated, pausing momentarily. “Your future isn’t worth reading, you mangy rat!” Angelica sneered, jumping in at Sunny’s sudden hesitation. Sunny glared back, opening her mouth to retort when Angelica suddenly rolled her eyes and disappeared back into her room, the veils swing closed behind her. Sunny gaped in outrage, before turning to glare the shiny blue coatl who walked up to her. He hesitated and flicked his fins in surprise, but smiled at Sunny when he realized that she wasn’t mad at him. Sunny glared once more at the veils before stalking off with Safyre close at her heels. “Tidelord! That dragoness drives me crazy!” ~~~~ change of scene ~~~ Angelica crossed her arms, glaring hard at the floor in front of her. She shook her head, huffing when she heard Sunny’s last retort before hearing their footsteps disappearing. Angelica stalked over to the table where her crystal ball sat. It was a gift from her teacher but she hadn’t been able to get it to work for weeks. She glared down at it, her reflection glaring back at her. A moment ago, when she was attempting to read that ungrateful rat’s future, the ball was only cloudy – refusing to give her its secrets. Now the ball was crystal clear, and showed her reflection on its polished surface. Angelica sighed loudly, her teacher must have given her a dud. Something that would only work in her presence, to test her in her ability to sense these things. She picked it up off its stand and moved to the bookcase where its chest stood. She would return it some other day, though a voice nagged in her head that she never would. And it nagged that she knew that wasn’t the problem. She shook the thought away and, gently, laid the ball in its velvet casing before closing the box’s lid. She stalked to her chair, and plopped down. Her claws played with the velvet tablecloth covering her circle table. She slammed her hand on the table, glaring at the bookcase. She should’ve been able to get this to work! The whole reason her teacher gave her that ball in the first place was because she excelled at this before! Angelica let out a sound of rage, and burrowed her head into her arms. How had she gotten so pathetic…She should have been able to do this. She sat up, taking a deep breath, and looking down to stare determinedly at her claws. Sunny was probably just in the way, and she’ll study her notes again until her brain bleeds. Feeling somewhat better, she stood up and began grabbing books off her bookcase. It didn’t work now, but she’s better than this – ignoring the harsh voice letting her know that was never going to compare to her siblings’ gifts – and sat down on her bed, cracking open one of her books. She’ll get this, and then after she’ll have a tea party. A smile tugged at her lips, and she began focusing her mind on the information in front of her. Fun fact: She was born on International Women's Day! |
