When she was young, Moranna was the caretaker of her clan's hatchlings. One slipped away from her and became trapped. When she tried to use her shaky and untested magic, the hatchling fell and tragically died. It had been her sister's. Heartbroken and furious, Alina slashed her sister's face. Moranna lost her eye in the fight. Confused, sad, and injured Moranna fled, exiled by her own family. She wears masks and hoods to hide the scar on her face.

She traveled from clan to clan, never staying very long. She learned to control and strengthen her powers, accumulating a bizarre mixture of light and dark magics. She can commune with the dead. Moranna sees ghosts, and she can bring them back to the physical plane for limited amounts of time. Rumors suggest that she can walk the plane between life and death. Moranna also wields light magic. She can conjure protection spells, and powerful healing drafts that work when herbs and potions fail.

She came to Nevermore after hearing it was a refuge for outcasts and the broken. She's created a refuge for herself on the very edge of the clan' territory. She helps all those who ask, taking payment in herbs, gemstones, and familiars. No mate has lasted long, and she does not make friends. She's never forgotten her sister, and she will not allow anyone else to come close enough to harm her once again.
