Perdita
Lost Soul, Artist
"I saw darkness, and then light, scarry, bright light"

Past
Perdita was born as a small, sick skydancer, and was smallest and weakest of her nest. Her parents wanted to save her life, and they tried everything, taking her to every doctor on Windswept Plateau they thought would be able to heal her. Sadly, no-one knew cure for her illness,a nd every passing day she grew weaker and weaker. And one day, miserable for her whole family, she lost her life, falling to darkness of death.

However, her soul didn`t die there, nor did it move on. She was called to heaven and afterlife, but after she grew too curious from what she had never seen, she ran back to land, as a soul of a small hatchling who wandered in wind territory. She became known as a lost child, and several stories tell how she played with lonely hatchlings or joined in with several hatchligns into a game. She was also knwon to sometimes lead hatchlings away, and those were never seen again, their parents crying after them, and when their saw Perdita, they begged her to bring them back. But she never did. She didn`t want to be alone. She just had took ew of her friends to play. After few years of this, more spirits of dead childern were seen, and not only on Windswept Plateau, but everywhere from Viridian Labyrinth to Southern Icefield. Parents started to be afraid and denied their kids to paly with ghosts, especially with Peridat, who now was also called as a soulstealer aside from lost child. She was confused and sad, but she had her friends to play with. She was still happy, not as happy as before, but happy.

Then, things ended up getting bad. she met dragon alone at night, dark as a night itself, who had purple, mysterious eyes ans stare that made everyone scared. perdita was curious and afraid, and creeped closer. This dragon didn`t hear hear, but soon catched glimpse of her wing and attacked on her with magic. Dak magic, specifically. Tiny hatchling felt odd, and she fall back, hitting to ground while breathign heavily. This mysterious dragon disappeared, and Perdita fainted to ground.

She was woken up by few dragons. They sounded worried, and Perida opened her eyes and was shocked from all drgons around her, all of them having worry in their eyes. She tried to get up, and fell back down after she felt asty pain in her side. She was even more confused about that, because ghosts were unable to feel pain. And then she realized: she was alive, in physical body. In a new body. She was pale, but her wings were dark shade of abyss, and dark markings run on her back and face. She was happy, but worried at same time. Other dragons, after seeing she was fine, left one after another, and she was left alone. Soon, she heard her ghost friends quiet sing in forrest, and decided to go look what they were up to. Sadly, when she found them, they ran away, some little scared and some absolutely terrified. No-one stayed. This told Perdita painfully clearly that she didn`t belong into land of death anymore, but not into land of living either. She was lost between them, somethign they both could see but neither of them accept as part of them. After that day, she was alone.

Perdita was lost. She didn`t know what to do or how, who she really was or why she couldn`t stop crying. She wandered on Windswept Plateau, tryign to find herself, but she never did. in her lonely life, she met some dragon on way. Some were nice, offered her some food and talked to her, even when she rarely responded with her quiet and shattering voice with little draconic she had learned before her death. Some were evil, taking advange of her in ways she never knew, who abused her and left her to die next to a road. Time went on, and bad encounters became far more common ´than kind, but most common was that traveler just passed her by, not taking any interest to young, traveling skydancer all alone. She had no knowledge about time at that point, ad she didn`t notice how time went on. Other dragons got older years when she felt it had only been few weeks, and year to her was uncountable amount of years for other dragon. Dragon who she thought she met few days ago had grown old and died, and hatchlings she had seen few weeks ago were now fully grown dragons with their own kids who wee already old enough to move away. She didn`t never realize this, until one dragon came to her companion.

This yougn dragon, named Asora, offered to make a journeyy with skydancer,a nd she agreed gladly, finally having friend. Soon though, she noticed how her friend was growing older and older right in fro´nt of her eyes, young dragon grew middle aged, and tsarted to get old. She sqw how Asora grew tired-lookign dragon, lost shine in her scales and finally, fell to ground and didn´t get up again. Perdita cried next to her lost friend until there were onyl bones left, which felt for her to be only one day. Then, she felt quiet touch on her shoudler, and turned around, scared and ready to defend herself. what she saw, was far from dangerous: other young skydancer, pale as her and dark-winged, takign support fron small rock next to him, his chest pounding and him ghasping for air, until he fell to ground revealign arrows that had hit on his shoulders and dark, almost black, blood that was pouring out from those wounds. Perdita felt fear growing on her heart, when she heard quiet voices from forest. She was not sure what she shoul do now, worried about her own life equally as much as she was worrying from this other dragon. A dragon like her, not dead or living. But soon, he would be dead like a rock if she wouldn`t find a way to save them.
