Biography
Somniphobia is the avatar of an extrademensional entity that feeds on fear, over time they infect the dreams of their victims, making them darker and more vivid until sleeping becomes unbearable. The afflicted sleeps less and less for fear of what lurks behind their eyes, often becoming erratic, irritable, hallucinating and as their condition worsens even violent. Eventually they refuse rest entirely, and inevitably either die by their own hand or succumb to the effects of sleep deprivation or stress.
Somni is almost singlemindedly focused on her feeding ritual, which they takes great care and pride in, considering it the highest of artforms. They are generally disinterested in matters that are not in some way relevant to her prey, but is necessarily malicious. If a dragon (or other sapient creature) that that are not feeding on manages to interest them enough to sustain a conversation, they may find Somni to be a highly intelligent and even amicable conversationalist, and so long as they do not interfere with their meals may be able to obtain valuable information or even particular favors.
The limits of their abilities are currently unknown, but while their ability to effect the psyche is unprecedented, they seem to have little effect on the physical world.
