Biography

Sigrún, though a Valkyrie, is unhappily betrothed to a man she does not want to marry. Her heart belongs to a brave warrior, named Helgi. Helgi fights the man she must marry to the death, winning her hand. Sigrún's entire family, except one brother, is killed in the battle. Although he swears loyalty to Helgi, Sigrún's brother, Dag, is consumed by hatred for Helgi. Dag finally seeks revenge and kills Helgi. After mourning Helgi's death and waiting for him to one day return to her, Sigrún dies from a broken heart. The two lovers are reborn to once again be reunited in another life.
