Slate loves Everything that shines and/or glitters. He is exstremly arrogant and belives he is the most beautiful dragon in the world, and loves to wear jewellery and shiny textiles; though hates his name, as he does not think it fits his "shine". He and Crystalheart became mates after he showered her in gifts and kind words. He thinks she is one of the most beautiful dragons he has seen, and describes her as a "breathing gem", wich, technically, she is. In the beginning, he was only interested in her because of her beauty, but after some time, her personality became much more dear to him; she made him feel loved, something he hadn't been in a long time. They now have three kids, who he's very proud of, of wich two left for the Arcanist, and one bacame a succesful buissnesman. "HOLY S**T JAZZ, LOOK AT MY KIDS!"

Slate takes care of a tailors shop for Naomi, wich brings in quite a bit of gold. He also trades with Skymning, Grying and Evening's jewelry store.
