On the way home from the coliseum one evening, ___1___ passed a crowd of ___3___ and detective dragons from___5___ Flight. This was the ___6___ time in a month someone had died along the trail. The victims had been killed by a ___7___ ___8___ with a large ___9___ gem in the hilt. There was a murderer on the loose! Everyone was ___10___ing about it.

The ___2___ doubted if the police would ever figure out who had done it. Their lair mates were afraid to go out on their own. ___1___ told them they had nothing to worry about, but they didn't think the murder would ever be caught.

"Why couldn't those ___4___ and investigators find any clues?" the ___2___ wondered. They hadn't even discovered the murder weapon yet.

Alivinri and Softstep like to collect sea glass along the northern shores of the Viridian Labyrinth. After a storm, flotsam and treasures are caught up in the Behemoth's roots.

They walk the pebbly shores during low tide to find hidden treasures. Shards of dark volcanic glass are common. The rarer frosted green and blue baubles are favored for ornaments by Nature dragons. Sometimes soft-edged globs of red or purple glass can be found. Local superstition claims that these pieces are carried by the ocean from an undiscovered Sornieth civilization (the Tundra pair think it is probably from a budding Maren colony).

Each trip the pair weave a stout basket from vines and water weed to carry their finds. Softstep often sings to herself as they walk along. The seabirds' cries are harsh and the gulls compete with the dragons for the shiniest finds. One afternoon while sorting their gathered goodies, Softstep discovered a dodo nestled in their piles of stone.

"Not a very comfortable nest," noted Softstep.

"Ha!" joked Alivinri, "it was probably attracted by your moony mumbling."
