Biography

20160.png
Fate Weaver

It is only a story told by mothers to their hatchlings before they are put to bed. A strange clan, hidden deep in the Tangled Woods, made of ethereal spirits that dance like faeries as they weave fate around their fingers. Weaving it as if they were making a basket.

...

Inside a deep copper cave, hidden in the dark of the woods, a skydancer with eerie blue wisps that float from their skin works a ball of foggy white between their fingers. As the spirit sits in the shadows of its cave, it works the ball around its claws elegantly, Stretching it apart, and then bundling it up again, every so often conjuring another wisp to add to the orb. If a dragon was able to look closely at the fate, they would see what would appear to be many dragon's lifetimes. Family after family of dragons are drawn to the surface of the ball, and sometimes it is just a single lonely figure; but still, every new image shows one constant figure growing just slightly older.

Eventually, the spirit opens its palms to look it over fully. Despite its opening to float away, the ball sits calmly in the spirit's claws. Still blind, the dragon offers the fate into the air, where the body of a semitransparent merman comes into existence to gently take hold of the orb. In its own soft white glow, the messenger looks the fate over for a moment, a brief smile and then a look of grief coming over its face. It holds the ball close to its chest as it fades into nothing once again, on its way to deliver a new dragon its fate.

Spirit of the Copper Cave

This spirit often deals in the fates of the long-lived, both the wise, and simply the lucky. This spirit often sits in deep thought at the bottom of their jagged cavern, with eyes closed even as they work their own form of art around their claws. This dragon's soul resides in cracked skull of an ancient creature, bound to never shatter by the spirit's magic. the skull sits at the bottom of the hollow, in the cave's wall, partially enclosed by the copper. Once the spirit is satisfied with its work, it calls for its messengers; the dead spirits of the long-lived Merpeople to deliver a new creature its fate.

This spirit was born alongside its first sister, who weaves awful, bloody fates. As time goes on, this spirit only gets stronger, and if it was to die, it could only be after time itself.
